GDPR Rights
Last updated: 24 October 2026
Coyeb.com (“Coyeb”, “we”, “us”) is a technology and general-interest blog. This page explains the rights you have over your personal data under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and how to use them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Who is responsible for your data
Coyeb.com is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us about any privacy question at contact@coyeb.com.
What personal data we handle
- Messages you send us – your name, email address and anything you write when you email us or use our contact page.
- Comments – if comments are open on an article and you leave one, the name, email address and website you enter, plus your IP address and browser details for spam checks.
- Technical data – like every website, our hosting provider’s servers record basic request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) in server logs to keep the site secure and working.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
Why we use it (legal basis)
- Legitimate interests – to run, secure and improve the website, prevent spam and abuse, and reply to messages you send us.
- Consent – where we ask for it, for example if you choose to have your comment details remembered. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation – where the law requires us to keep or share certain information.
How long we keep it
- Emails and contact messages: for as long as needed to deal with your request, then deleted unless we need them for a legal reason.
- Comments: for as long as the comment is published on the site. Comments marked as spam are deleted.
- Server logs: kept for a limited period by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access – ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification – ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Erasure – ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction – ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Data portability – receive your data in a common, machine-readable format.
- Objection – object to us using your data based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent – at any time, where we rely on consent.
- Complain – to your local data protection authority if you think we have handled your data unlawfully.
How to use your rights
Email contact@coyeb.com with the subject line “GDPR request” and tell us which right you want to use. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will reply within one month. Making a request is free.
Data sent outside your country
Some of the services that keep this website running (such as hosting) may store or process data outside the European Economic Area or the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer under data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this page
We may update this page when the law or our website changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
