Know how to make the best class 10 science notes

Science is a difficult subject for many students. Studying, understanding, learning, remembering, and clearing the subject altogether seems complex and confusing especially when you’re preparing for Class 10 science when the subject becomes more than just ‘mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell’. Although you don’t need to be an Einstein or Galileo, you still have to fare well in the subject, so that it does not affect your overall class 10 result. After all, scoring well in the 10th board exam is considered a major achievement. So here’s an easy way to revise your Class 10 science notes.

Firstly, the important step to start your way into the subject is to know the basics very well, which includes everything you have studied before class 10. Knowing them beforehand is a big plus point to move forward in your syllabus without wanting to quit halfway or not completing your Science syllabus. And for remembering the basics that well, one must refer to the NCERT textbooks that cover everything well from the basics to the main concepts. The entire syllabus is well covered, explained, and detailed in the NCERT books and hence most questions are pooled in the exams from here. Hence, even if you are not an expert at science or even below average, refer to these textbooks to get good or more than good scores in the subject.

Regardless of your liking and interest in the subject, it is necessary that you study it to get through the 10th exams, and for that, you need to have good preparation with no lagging. So, the following are some effective methods and tips to prepare the material for revision of your science notes:

  • Divide chapters into PCB categorically based on weightage

The science portion is vast, and to move forward with the syllabus jumping from a physics chapter to a chemistry chapter is confusing and chaotic while also attempting to know which chapter should you give more importance to and put in more effort in. So, the initial step to draw a study plan is to categorize the chapters into Physics, Chemistry, and Biology based on how many marks each of them carries and then devise a timetable to learn the chapters systematically. Study the chapters with more marks first, learn them well and create notes on all important topics of the chapter, so you may cover the syllabus adequately and in time.

  • Study with a definite plan

Make sure that your timetable is proper, not too tiring, not too relaxing. One must always keep in mind that the effective way to study is time management. Adhere to the timetable strictly but do not study continuously at one long stretch, take systematic breaks not too frequent, to enhance your memory. Because studying science is all about remembering the concepts well. Also, make sure that your timetable is apt enough to complete your syllabus quickly, ensuring time for revision at least twice.

  • Make clear and concise notes for revision

Use highlighters or stick notes to remember pointers. Create separate books for important pointers of chapter theories and separate notes for jotting down only formulae and derivatives in the case of physics, and diagrams, and chemical elements of biology and chemistry. Include concise information on all crucial topics, as it will be useful in last-minute revision. You could use studying methods like creating abbreviations out of topics to recall them better. Also, you could characterize topics with day-to-day examples to learn them better and watch relatable videos and study materials online, for quick revisions.

  • Make clean understandable notes

Make sure that your notes are neat, clean, and readable, be creative in making them, so revision becomes easy and learning becomes fun. Shabby handwriting with no presentation is nobody’s go-to notes, so make your notes interesting.

  • Practice sums and diagrams dedicatedly

To imbibe the information well in your mind, practice the sums, theories, and diagrams over and over again so that it becomes an easy thing to do in the exams. Make it a habit to solve solved examples given in the NCERT textbooks to get a gist of the kind of problems that could be asked and so you can master them. Time yourself when practicing, so that you do not struggle managing time with the sums and diagrams during the exams.

  • Refer to previous year question papers

If you are looking to refer to important questions that are likely to be asked, you must refer to the previous years’ question papers as the boards include many questions from the previous exams. Solve as many question papers from the past years’ as you can, because that is a very effective method to get good scores because you also cover important topics and learn time management simultaneously. You can go through these solved papers as a part of your last-minute revision.

  • Revise the notes at least twice

With an effective study plan and proper notes and following the timetable diligently, you can easily achieve a greater part of your target, but another important stage is after finishing your syllabus revising the topics again. If you have enough time you can revise the subject twice and go through all your doubts and solve them. The more you revise the more you remember and the more easily you can recall answers during exams.

These are a few ways to make notes that ensure that you have enough practice of the subject and how competently you can put effort into it. Also, always look out for help from guides and teachers who are well versed in the subject, to solve your doubts rather than being stuck on a topic. Another vital factor is to not stress and fuss about looking at the syllabus, doing things with a proper strategy makes it easier to study. Avoid distractions and procrastinating while studying. Follow a proper procedure without panicking and science will become a very lenient subject to study.
