How To Add Keywords To Shopify Store

Many people attempt Shopify store SEOon their own. If you are good at SEO and you can stay up-to-date and implement the latest search engine guidelines, you may be able to achieve high search engine ranking for a few keywords. However, the internet has become a competitive landscape for online businesses. SEO is not as simple and straightforward as once it was. It requires a diverse range of skills, deep understanding of the domain and knowledge of many search engine optimization tools. There are Shopify SEO plugins that may help you with the basics but can’t guide you through the advanced SEO. Therefore, if you don’t have what it takes, your website will sink in the vast ocean of websites on the web. Let a Shopify SEO agency do it for you.

There are some basic SEO practices that you can do on your own. In this article, you will learn how to add keywords to a Shopify store. Keep in mind that your keyword research has to be accurate and you are aware of keyword placement and density.

A keyword is a set of words search engine users type in the search box to find something on the web. Search engine bots explore the web to find pages featuring that keyword. For example, a business looking for Shopify SEO services may search ‘Shopify SEO agency’. The search engine crawler crawls websites to find web pages that are relevant to the query. After identifying relevant pages, search engine indexes them in a database and assigns ranks to show on the search engine result page.

Google Keyword Planner is a free tool that you can use to identify keywords. However, a Shopify SEO agency uses premium tools to analyze thousands of keywords and considers concepts like keyword competition, monthly searches and keywords difficulty to use the right keywords in the content. An SEO company for Shopify also focuses on competitor keyword research.

Once you have a list of keywords you want to target, it’s time to use them to optimize your Shopify store content.

Adding Keywords to Header

Include the focus keyword in the main heading. Shopify generates H1 header using the title you enter for the blog post, collection/category page, or product page. This text goes into the H1 HTML tag. The search engine crawls the H1 tag to get an idea of the content on the page. Therefore, include the main keyword in the title so that Shopify automatically includes it in the H1 header.

Select the page you want to edit, add a descriptive title with the focus keyword in the Title field. Click Save. Publish and reload the edited page to see the changes.

Add Keywords in Page Content

Make sure that you publish quality, unique content on each page and optimize it with the right keywords, keyword placement and keyword density. Make sure that the header and content are relevant as search engines compare both. Misleading or spammy content don’t get ranked. don’t copy product descriptions from the manufacturer’s website. This will add plagiarized content on your website which is not good for its SEO. While your page should have quality content, the quantity also matters as when there is more quality content to read, search engines get a better idea of the page. Add a descriptive text of at least 250 words. If it is a blog post, it should have at least 500 words of quality content.

Adding keywords to meta title and meta description
